We have done a lot of talking about weight loss and how to go about it, and we have been shared many healthy recipes along the way, but the proof is in the pictures. I thought you might like to see that I am walking my talk. I also hope that it will inspire others that are needing a little push to get started on their own weight loss journey.

(This was taken last summer. Believe it or not, it’s not at the heaviest that I have ever been. I use to weigh even 70 pounds heavier. I lost the initial 70 pounds through hypnosis and bounced up and down a few pounds for 7 years, but never regained the weight that I had lost.)

(Here I am after having lost 27.4 pounds in about 10 weeks.)
Losing this much weight didn’t happen over night. Losing the rest won’t happen over night either. It takes discipline, persistence, determination, and motivation. Hypnosis does indeed keep me on track, but also being accountable every week to step on a scale of front of another person has helped also. Using a sensible food plan that I can stay on for the rest of my life, instead of a few short weeks, has also helped tremendously.
I want to share with you how long it took to lose the 27.8 pounds witnessed in the photo above. How the weight dropped off little by little at a healthy and reasonable pace. I made the decision to lose weight on April 6, 2009.
Week 1: I lost 3.8 pounds
Week 2: I lost 2.2 pounds
Week 3: I lost 4.0 pounds
Week 4: I lost 4.8 pounds
Week 5: I lost 1.8 pounds
Week 6: I lost .2 pounds
Week 7: No weigh in because of the holiday.
Week 8: I lost 6.0 pounds
Week 9: I didn’t gain and didn’t lose. The scales didn’t budge.
Week 10: I lost 4.6 pounds.
I don’t believe in fad diets. They do not work, and any loss they offer is short lived. Example: Who will go the rest of their life without ever eating a potato, unless they hate potatoes to start with? I think you catch my drift. If an individual has a lot of weight to loose, then they need a food plan that they can live with forever. The changes need to last that long to lose the weight and then to maintain a healthy weight. More importantly is just making up your mind to begin and then get started!
Today is weigh in day. I will be back later to post my loss for the week. I will also post more photos as I continue to lose weight.
