Fat Granny Talking About A Challenge: 5/09/08

I read something from Diana recently stating that she thinks she cursed herself when she wrote an article on the health benefits of a good night’s sleep. She hasn’t been sleeping well since. Likewise, I think I jinxed my own self when I decided to put myself in the spotlight and post about my attempts to walk my way to a healthier lifestyle. I have done everything BUT walk lately. I have worked in my yard a great deal, and gotten exercise through other means, but walking?…..It hasn’t been happening. In fact, today I plan to work out for an hour in a water aerobics class. It’s not only fun, but the time seems to just fly by. Trading 30 minutes of walking for an hour of water aerobics is not a bad deal.
I stepped on the scale this morning and saw that I have only lost a pound this past week. At least, it’s a pound lost, and not a pound gained, right? And at least, I am not at a stand still. I hope to lose at least 9 more pounds before the month is over. I have plans to visit Mexico in August, and I would love to be 30 pounds lighter by then.
So, I am tossing out a challenge. Who will join me in losing 2 pounds by next Friday? Sign up by hitting the reply button, and next Friday come back and report back on the next “Fat Granny Walking” post, and don’t forget to tell us what you did to accomplish your 2 pound weight loss goal.
Abundantly Yours….

I take the challenge! And guess what? The curse is over. I slept and dreamed again last night! I’ll be reporting back here next Friday, and I’ll be blogging in my own section too. I’m ready to get moving now that I’m sleeping again.

Sleep & Cursing! It can be very frustrating when we can’t sleep. I read sometime ago that lots of women, who aren’t even peri/menopausal have trouble sleeping & put the time to positive use by painting, reading, whatever.
When I took my Jin-shin-do training years ago when I was a bodyworker, I learned that wakefulness when we’re supposed to be sleeping or visa versa is due to an imbalance in a particular energy system, e.g. heart, kidneys, etc. Each system covers about 2 hours. I don’t think I have copies of that material anymore for you.
But perhaps that could help?
Cheers
